We had something very special at Ohio State, a national championship in 2002. I am very honored I am a Buckeye, and I will take these memories with me wherever I go in life. - Andy Groom 2000-2002: All-American punter

The entrance to the newly renovated Woody Hayes Athletic Center houses many of Ohio State's trophies including its recent national championship, Big Ten titles and its seven Heisman trophies. But the foyer is simply the beginning to an impressive, expansive facility - the home of the Ohio State Buckeye Football team.

Once you actually open the door to the OSU football facility, you begin a 100 yard journey down the storied tradition of the Scarlet and Gray where a stain-glassed Block O awaits in the distance. Down the hall are doors to the coaches' offices and meeting rooms - each hosting murals on the walls of former OSU players.

Another door opens to the state-of-the-art weight room with a second-story player's lounge and cardio floor. Adjacent to the weight room are the medical and training rooms which have also been expanded to include an underwater treadmill and the latest in sports medicine. The renovated locker room provides plenty of space for every player to get geared up at once without stepping on each other. Once the players are suited up for practice, they are yards away from a brand new indoor regulation sized turf-field. The indoor facility is used in the winter and during inclement weather. Just outside, OSU has an additional four practice fields (two prescription athletic turf and two grass) in order for the Buckeyes to prepare on the surface that they will be playing on each Saturday.

Aside from all of the amenities the players can enjoy in the WHAC, each hallway serves as a constant reminder of what a privilege it is to be a Buckeye. There are bays with displays dedicated to coach Woody Hayes, the current coaching staff, the 31 Big Ten championship teams, the seven national championship teams, major award winners and first-team All-Americans, academic All-Americans, the players who have gone on to play into the NFL and much more.

The $21.5 million 78,000 square feet project also includes flat-screen televisions throughout the meeting rooms, locker rooms, weight room and players lounge which includes a nook dedicated to video games. Just down the hall, the players can enjoy some racquetball or basketball in their free time!

There is no other facility in all of college football that can compare to the Woody Hayes Athletic Center.
